I tried playing 'DEFRAG THE GAME', a game based on the HDD speed-up technology 'defragmentation'
On a hard disk, if file data is stored in different locations, the disk will wait for rotation, slowing down reading. Defragmentation is a technique that organizes the storage location of data to speed up reading from the hard disk, and many people who have been using PCs for a long time should have defragmented their hard disks regularly. I tried playing ' DEFRAG THE GAME ', a game that turns defragmentation into a game.
DEFRAG THE GAME
When you access the site, it looks like this. There are three types of stages: 'Easy', 'Normal', and 'Hard'. First, select 'DRIVE C' for the 'Easy' difficulty level and click 'Start'.
The game has begun. The rules are simple: just move the selected block up, down, left, and right, lining it up as you go. Parts are automatically selected in order from the top left. However, if there is another block in the destination, you cannot move it, so you need to operate while considering the movement of the block. The 'number of operations,' 'elapsed time,' and 'current number of fragments' are displayed on the right.

Fill in the squares from the top to make the data continuous.
Once all the data has been located, a score is calculated. The lower the score, the better.
The stage on the 'Normal' difficulty level looks like this. In addition to the larger grid, the large parts get in the way and make it difficult to place the data as you want.
'Hard' had even larger squares and parts.
