Qualcomm announces 'Snapdragon 7s Gen 3,' a mid-range SoC that incorporates high-end functions to improve performance and power saving

Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC for mid-range devices. Realme, Samsung, Sharp, Xiaomi and others are expected to announce Snapdragon 7s Gen 3-equipped devices in the coming months.

The Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 is manufactured using a 4nm process and supports up to 16GB of LP-DDR5 memory.

Compared to the previous model 7s Gen 2, the Qualcomm Kryo CPU improves performance by nearly 20% and power efficiency by 45%. In addition, the Qualcomm Adreno GPU improves gaming performance by up to 40%, and the AI engine makes AI tasks more efficient by more than 30%. The SoC as a whole achieves 12% power savings.

For games, the Adaptive Performance Engine and Variable Rate Shading provide smoother, more detailed graphics, and the device is ready for the future with support for Full HD+ 144Hz displays and the Vulkan 1.3 API.

In terms of sound, the Snapdragon Sound Technology Suite delivers clear, high-quality audio with features like spatial audio and Qualcomm Aqstic Hi-Fi DAC.

Additionally, the Snapdragon 5G Modem-RF system enables high-speed 5G communications and broad network support, while Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4 improve wireless performance.

In addition, the Micro NPU in the Qualcomm Sensing Hub has been improved, providing AI functions such as multilingual translation and noise cancellation to improve user experience and efficiency.

In terms of the camera, the Qualcomm Spectra Triple ISP supports high-speed processing for simultaneous photo and video capture, while AI-enhanced features such as AI Remosaic and AI Video Retouch improve the quality of your photos and videos.

Realme, Samsung, Sharp, Xiaomi and others are already preparing to equip their phones with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, and are expected to announce them one after another.
