Introducing the high-performance SoC 'Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5' for mobile devices, supporting extended gaming and AI execution

Qualcomm has released the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, an SoC for smartphones and other mobile devices. It claims to be the 'world's fastest' and promises ultra-fast multitasking and extended gaming.

One of the features of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is its AI performance. It features the Qualcomm AI Engine, which enables a personalized, active AI assistant that performs actions tailored to the user across apps. Continuous learning and real-time sensing on the device enable it to make suggestions based on the situation.

It is also the world's first mobile platform to enable recording in the Advanced Professional Video (APV) codec, enabling professional-level video production.

The 3rd generation Qualcomm Oryon CPU in this SoC boasts a 20% performance improvement and 35% CPU power efficiency improvement compared to the previous Snapdragon 8 Elite. Additionally, the Adreno GPU delivers a 23% improvement in graphics performance and a 20% improvement in GPU power efficiency. Overall SoC power consumption is reduced by 16%, resulting in longer battery life.

In addition, it achieves the fastest peak speed of 3.7Gbps with uplink MIMO, and the Qualcomm FastConnect 7900 mobile connection system is enhanced with AI, achieving 40% power savings over Wi-Fi 7 connections.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will be featured in devices from Honor, iQOO, Nubia, OnePlus, OPPO, POCO, realme, REDMI, RedMagic, ROG, Samsung, Sony, vivo, Xiaomi, ZTE and more, and will be available soon.
