Director James Cameron appeared at the Disney fan event ' D23 The ULTIMATE Disney FAN EVENT ' held at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
It was revealed that the third film in the series will be released under the title 'Avatar: Fire and Ashes.'
When the first 'Avatar' film was released in 2009, it made the most of IMAX 3D to create an immersive experience on the mysterious planet Pandora, where the story takes place, and became a hot topic. It surpassed 'Titanic' to become the world's highest-grossing film at the time. This record was later surpassed by 'Avengers: Endgame,' but was surpassed again in 2021 when it was re-released in China.
A sequel, Avatar: Way of Water, is scheduled for release in 2022.
Director Cameron said, 'I flew all the way from New Zealand for this event, but it was worth the trip. Sam Worthington, who plays the main character Jake, and Zoe Saldana, who plays Neytiri, also made an appearance at the event.
