Neuralink announces second successful brain implant surgery
Neuralink , a brain implant company founded by Elon Musk, has revealed that it has successfully completed testing of its second brain implant.

Neuralink, founded by Mr. Musk in 2017, is conducting research and development to embed IC chips in the human brain to provide functions such as 'connection to external devices' and 'visual augmentation,' and in May 2023, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved a clinical trial plan for humans. After that, Neuralink was recruiting subjects for clinical trials.
On January 30, 2024, Neuralink reported that its first clinical trial was successful.

Later, in a conversation with computer scientist Lex Friedman , Musk announced that the second IC chip implantation clinical trial had been successful, with about 400 of the 1,024 electrodes on the chip functioning.

Musk did not provide any details about the subject, such as the timing of the surgery, other than to say that the subject suffered a spinal cord injury similar to that of the first subject who became paralyzed in a diving accident.
For the second clinical trial, it was reported that the FDA approved the trial in May 2024.

Neuralink also aims to implant brain implants in a total of 10 patients by 2024, and Mask said that he would like to conduct Neuralink clinical trials on the remaining eight subjects by 2024.
