This was revealed in Musk's reply to

a post by Marcus House, who said his 14-year-old son suffers from a rare eye disease called CRB1 retinal dystrophy, leaving him nearly blind in one eye.

Musk's reply is as follows:

'It may not be much consolation, but Neuralink is working on a vision chip that they expect to have ready in a few years. We are awaiting regulatory approval for first human use.'



Nauralink received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in May 2023 and is recruiting subjects from September 2023.
