Problems such as 'game crashes' and 'software not working properly' have been reported on PCs equipped with 13th and 14th generation Core processors. Intel acknowledged in July 2024 that the cause of the crash problem was its own microcode and promised to release a patch to fix it.

According to Intel's announcement, the crash problem was caused by a malfunction of 'abnormally high voltage being applied to the processor. If you purchased a boxed CPU, please contact Intel customer support.

Intel is currently investigating ways to more easily identify affected processors and will provide more information as soon as possible.

There have been reports online that crashes also occur with mobile 13th and 14th generation Core processors, but Intel has only identified the cause for desktop processors, and this warranty extension only applies to desktop processors.
