ASUS distributed the beta update file for the Z790 series via its internal forum , while MSI introduced the models that support the update via a press release .
MSI models supported for the update include MEG Z790 GODLIKE MAX, MEG Z790 ACE MAX, MPG Z790 CARBON MAX WIFI II, MPG Z790 CARBON WIFI, MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI and Z790MPOWER.
MSI said it plans to release BIOS updates for all Intel 13th and 14th generation processors by the end of August.
MSI explains that the above updates are 'aimed at reducing instability,' and they will await Intel's response to fundamentally improve the problem.
Intel's 13th and 14th generation CPUs have an operating voltage problem caused by Intel's microcode, which has caused problems such as crashes during gameplay. It has been pointed out that this problem may physically damage the CPU, and even if an official update is implemented in the future, it may not be restored. Intel has announced that it will extend the processor warranty period by two years, but the warranty for pre-installed (tray version) processors that are not guaranteed by Intel is currently left to the OEM.

Even if you're using a motherboard other than ASUS or MSI, there may be an update available that addresses the issue. US-based PC manufacturer Falcon Northwest says that 'you should update your PC to the latest BIOS now to prevent CPU wear and hopefully to avoid the need for returns.'
