◆Card view appearance change
Thunderbird has adopted a new UI from Thunderbird 115, released in July 2023. In Thunderbird 128, the appearance of the 'Card View', which was the highlight feature of Thunderbird 115, has been adjusted. Specifically, the tree structure of emails can now be seen at a glance, and the height of cards is automatically adjusted according to the content of the email.

◆ Bulk operations on multiple folders are now possible
In Thunderbird, you can manage emails and RSS by dividing them into folders. In Thunderbird 128, a function was added that allows you to select multiple folders at the same time. The selection operation is the same as in Explorer, and you can select multiple items by 'holding down the Ctrl key and clicking.' You can also select a range by 'holding down the Shift key and clicking two folders.'

After selecting multiple folders, you can perform bulk operations such as deleting or marking as read from the right-click menu.

◆Improved theme compatibility
On Linux distributions such as Ubuntu and Linux Mint, desktop themes will be more compatible with Thunderbird themes, and your system accent color will also apply to Thunderbird.

◆ Supports Windows native notification function
Thunderbird used to render its own notification popups, but the Windows version of Thunderbird now uses Windows' native notification features.

How to update
Thunderbird version 128.0 is not available through the in-app update feature or package manager, and you must download the installer or package directly from thunderbird.net . According to the development team, in-app update feature and package manager updates will be available in future minor releases. They also revealed that they plan to add sync functionality in minor releases.
