H-optimus-0 is an AI platform model that Bioptimus announced just five months after its founding.

The number of parameters is 1.1 billion.

It is trained on a unique dataset of hundreds of millions of images extracted from over 500,000 histopathology slides.

The dataset includes 4000 clinical treatments of over 200,000 patients.

H-optimus-0 is released as open source.

It is said that this will accelerate innovation in pathology and other fields.

'H-optimus-0 represents a major leap forward in the field of pathology, a fully open source model,' said Rodolphe Genatten, CTO of Bioptimus. 'We are committed to advancing medical research and improving patient care. By encouraging collaboration and the adoption of new practices, we aim to accelerate innovation in pathology and beyond, ultimately benefiting patients around the world.'

'H-optimus-0 is just the beginning,' said Dr. Jean-Philippe Bart, co-founder and CEO of Bioptimus. 'H-optimus-0 is the first in a new series of models that Bioptimus will create, each one more advanced and comprehensive than the last. Future models will not only be trained on even more pathology images from Europe, Asia and Africa, but will also incorporate other modalities such as genomic and proteomic analysis. Our ultimate goal is to create the first multiscale foundational model of biology.'
