Actor and voice actor Taiki Matsuno, who played a variety of roles including Kindaichi Hajime, the protagonist of the anime 'Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo,' Banjome Jun in 'Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters GX,' SpongeBob Squarepants, Kouga in 'Inuyasha,' Tarte in 'Fresh Pretty Cure!', and the voice of Shurikenger in the special effects series 'Ninpuu Sentai Hurricaneger,' passed away on June 26, 2024, due to a right cerebral hemorrhage, his agency Aoni Production announced. Matsuno-san was a member of the Himawari Theater Company and was active as an actor since he was a child under the name Tatsuya Matsuno. He made his voice acting debut in the 1978 anime series 'The Little Prince: Petit Prince.'



From 1982 to 1983, he appeared on the radio show 'Animetopia,' hosted by Mayumi Tanaka and Saeko Shimazu, as a younger brother to his senior in the agency, Yuji Mitsuya, who was also a former child actor. In the anime 'Sasuga no Sarutobi,' which aired around the same time, he played Hattori Yuichiro, a classmate of the main character, Nikumaru Sarutobi, played by Mitsuya.

Matsuno is best known for his role as Kindaichi Hajime in the anime 'The Kindaichi Case Files.' Yamaguchi Kappei played the role in the first movie released in 1996, but Matsuno took over the role for the TV anime that began airing in 1997, which ran for three years and produced one movie.
