You can see how to play One Million Checkboxes in the video below. There are no winning or losing conditions, so it's not really a 'game,' but it somehow looks like a game where the 'checking side' and the 'unchecking side' fight each other.

'One Million Checkboxes' where you can click 1 million checkboxes with countless users - YouTube

When you access One Million Checkboxes, it looks like this.

The basic operation is to simply click a checkbox.

As you check or uncheck something, the number in the top right corner changes, and the counter at the top shows how many boxes are checked.

By entering a number between 1 and 1 million in the search bar at the bottom right, you can jump to the location of that checkbox.

While the top box is seeing a lot of activity with checks being switched between, scroll down to the bottom and you'll see users creating hearts and other designs of their own volition.

According to developer Royalty, One Million Checkboxes was created in just two days. It uses

react-window to prevent checkboxes from being rendered when they are not visible, and takes snapshots approximately every 30 seconds to keep clients synchronized.

'The site has become much more popular than we expected, and we're going to have some server issues for a while,' Royalty wrote on the message board site Hacker News. In fact, some users have reported errors connecting to the site.
