CoCo Ichibanya x Acecook's 'CoCo Ichibanya Supervised Specialty Store's Standard Pork Curry Ramen / Spicy Pork Curry Yakisoba' Tasting Review

As a collaboration between curry chain CoCo Ichibanya and Acecook, ' CoCo Ichibanya Supervised Specialty Store's Classic Pork Curry Ramen / Spicy Pork Curry Yakisoba ' was released on Monday, June 24, 2024. The flavor is based on CoCo Ichibanya's pork curry with a hint of garlic, and is paired with thick noodles that are elastic and smooth, so I tried it.

I bought the specialty store's standard pork curry flavored ramen and the specialty store's spicy pork curry flavored yakisoba, both supervised by CoCo Ichibanya.

First, I tried the specialty shop's standard pork curry ramen.

The ingredients look like this.

Calories per cup are 390kcal.

When I opened the lid, inside were noodles, vegetables, powdered soup, and a special paste.

Open the powdered soup, pour in boiling water, and wait 4 minutes. Place the special paste bag on top of the lid to warm it up.

After 4 minutes, remove the lid and stir well. You will already be able to smell the curry at this point.

Then, the special paste is added. Although it is called 'paste,' when poured from the bag, it feels like a slightly thick liquid.

Add the paste and stir again and it's done.

The soup is slightly thick, but not too viscous, and is smooth. The curry aroma is strong, but the taste is not too strong and is light. The soup has a sweet onion flavor, so even people who don't like spicy food should have no problem eating it. The ingredients, such as shredded carrots and minced pork, are chopped quite finely, so the texture is mostly just noodles, but they have a strong presence in the flavor. The noodles are thick and slightly chewy, and are quite filling.

Next, I'll try the spicy pork curry yakisoba from a specialty store.

The ingredients look like this.

The calorie content is 538kcal per cup.

When you open the lid, you'll find not only the noodles, but also toppings, flavored oil for loosening the noodles, and finishing seasoning.

Spread the toppings on top of the noodles.

Pour in boiling water and wait 5 minutes.

After 5 minutes, drain the water. Use a large drain hole. The grains of the vegetables inside are very small, so be careful not to drain the water too gently, otherwise the vegetables will flow out.

Loosen the noodles, add the aromatic oil and stir well.

Finally, sprinkle the finishing seasoning over the entire noodles and they're done.

The seasoning is mostly the spicy spices used at CoCo Ichibanya. The thick, chewy noodles are well coated with the spicy spices. The curry has a stronger spice flavor than pork curry, and the hotness lingers in your mouth. The ingredients are chopped finely, so the texture is very simple, so you can add your own favorite ingredients, just like you would top a CoCo Ichibanya curry.

CoCo Ichibanya's specialty store's standard pork curry ramen and specialty store's spicy pork curry yakisoba will be available at supermarkets and convenience stores nationwide from Monday, June 24, 2024. The suggested retail price is 293 yen including tax.
