ROG Ally, released in June 2023, is equipped with the AMD Ryzen Z1 series, a high-performance, power-efficient processor for portable gaming devices, and can play games on multiple platforms, including Steam and Xbox Game Pass.

The basic performance of the newly announced ROG Ally X, such as the display, is almost the same as ROG Ally, but the body size is 28.0mm wide x 11.4mm deep x 36.9mm high, and the weight has increased from 608g for ROG Ally to 678g.
The processor is still the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme from the top model of the ROG Ally, but the main memory speed of the ROG Ally X has been increased from 6400MHz to 7500MHz, and the memory capacity has been increased from 16GB to 24GB.
The storage has also been increased from 512GB in the previous model to 1TB, with user-replaceable SSD, and the battery capacity has been doubled from 40Wh in the ROG Ally to 80Wh, allowing you to play games for longer.
Meanwhile, foreign media The Verge has reported that the '
Engadget, an overseas media outlet, states, 'The addition of a second USB Type-C port increases the versatility of the system, and the device is equipped with the ability to use the ROG Ally X as a pseudo desktop PC in case of a PC failure or other pinch.'
The durability of the joystick has been improved from 2 million to 5 million clicks, and the cross key has been enlarged and supports eight-way input. The Verge, who tried the actual machine, said about the ROG Ally X's cross key, 'It's more comfortable.'
In addition, although the cooling fan installed in the ROG Ally X is 23% smaller than the previous model, by revising the circuit board and airflow and installing a unique blade, the overall exhaust volume has been improved by approximately 24%, and the temperature of the touch screen has been reduced by up to 6°C.
The ROG Ally X is available for preorder in the US and Canada for $799.99, and ASUS says it will be available in Japan from summer 2024 onwards.
