The HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Mini , a small mouse weighing just 59g and compatible with 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth connections using a dedicated dongle, was released in April 2024. I was able to borrow this mouse from the seller, HP Japan, so I played around with it.

This is the 'HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Mini' package.

The contents include the mouse body, cable, instruction manual, and replacement anti-slip stickers.

This is the mouse itself.

Length 116.6mm x width 61.9mm x height 36.7mm.

The actual weight is 59g.

Between the left and right buttons is a wheel button, and below that is the DPI switching button.

There are two side buttons on the left side.

The right side looks like this.

On the front is a USB Type-C port for charging and wired connection. The battery is a 370mAh lithium-ion polymer battery with a maximum operating time of about 100 hours.

The back is rounded and has a tight fit.

Sensors and other components are located on the bottom.

At the bottom left of the label on the bottom is the 'power mode switch,' which allows you to switch between Bluetooth / power off / 2.4GHz.

The included USB dongle can be stored at the bottom.

It looks like this when you actually hold it in your hand. It's small, so it seems like it would be easy for children and women with small hands to use. Even people with large hands can easily hold the mouse over their head, which is commonly known as 'over the head grip.'

Hold it slightly further back and shoot from the front.

The side buttons also feel natural to your thumb.

I recorded the click sounds. The left and right clicks and the side buttons have slightly different sounds, the side buttons have a lower and heavier sound.

These are the accessories. It comes in three types: a USB dongle for 2.4GHz connection, an expansion adapter, and a USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable.

If you want to connect at 2.4GHz, connect the USB dongle and expansion adapter, and then connect the USB cable (USB Type-C side) to the expansion adapter.

Just connect the USB Type-A side to a PC etc.

By moving the power mode switch on the bottom of the mouse to 2.4GHz, the mouse will connect wirelessly using the 2.4GHz frequency band.

On the PC side, it is recognized as 'HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Mini'.

To connect via Bluetooth, simply move the power mode switch to Bluetooth and connect via the Bluetooth settings on the device. These are the two wireless connection patterns. In addition, wired connection using a USB cable is also supported.

When you move the power mode switch to 2.4GHz or Bluetooth, the LED lights on either side of the wheel button will light up.

In addition to the color of this light, you can adjust the button assignments and default DPI settings using HyperX's exclusive software '

HyperX NGENUITY '. For the Windows version, search for 'HyperX NGENUITY' in the Microsoft Store and click the button that says 'Get'.

When you connect the device and launch HyperX NGENUITY, the following settings screen will appear.

In the 'Buttons' tab, you can change the assignments of all buttons. You can also set 'Macros' to perform multiple operations with one button.

You can set the DPI from 'Sensor'. You can save up to five sensitivity settings from 200 to 26000, and switch to the saved sensitivity each time you press the DPI button. You can also set the 'color' of the wheel button along with the sensitivity, so that the color of the LED will change every time you switch DPI, allowing you to associate 'this color with this sensitivity.'

After using it for a while, I felt that it was light but not flimsy, and the buttons had a good bounce and a pleasant click. The rubber on the wheel button caught my finger easily, making it easy to use, but the 'typical' feel of the rubber may be a matter of personal preference. Other than that, I had no complaints, and I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a light, small, and durable gaming mouse.
