Meta has announced an expanded set of generative AI tools it offers to advertisers, allowing people and businesses to generate entirely new imagery featuring the products or services they want to promote.

For example, let's say you want to advertise coffee and have prepared a base image.
The prompt 'Hot coffee on a wooden table with a coffee plantation in the background' generated the following image:
The prompt for 'steaming coffee surrounded by coffee beans and leaves' looks like this. You don't have to make your own ad banner, just prepare the materials and Meta's generation AI will do the rest to some extent.
There is also a text generation function suitable for SNS ads. For example, let's say the product is coffee, and the post text is 'A pleasant coffee will liven up your day with its rich aroma and exquisite taste,' and the headline is 'Enjoy the ultimate cup of coffee now!'
The AI then output different candidate expressions with similar nuances. In the example below, the phrases are 'The rich aroma and exquisite flavor of this coffee will instantly liven up your day' and 'Enjoy a blissful cup of coffee right now.'
For advertising photos with overlapping text, it shows examples of various fonts. There are 12 popular fonts to choose from.
In addition, a button called 'image expand' appears.
It stretches your photo vertically, so you can easily create banners that fit into different sizes of ad frames.
According to Meta, the introduction of AI background generation has increased return on advertising by 13%. Meta explains that investment in generative AI is helping companies create ads faster and optimize performance.
The text generation feature will be built into Llama 3, and an update introducing these changes is scheduled to be rolled out globally sometime in 2024.
