Nintendo Forcing Garry's Mod To Delete 20 Years Of Content
Garry's Mod is a sandbox game with no set objective or goal, where you can enjoy installing various mods registered on the Steam Workshop and other sites, observing how they work, and developing your own game modes.
At the time of writing, approximately 1.8 million mods have been added to the Steam Workshop, some of which ignore copyrights.
This time, Nintendo has requested that developer Facepunch Studios 'remove all Nintendo-related content from the Steam Workshop.' In response, Facepunch Studios has reported that it is working to remove Nintendo-related content.
Facepunch Studios said, 'It's up to Nintendo to decide what they will and won't allow. Apparently, Nintendo doesn't want their content to be used in games like Garry's Mod. Still, we respect Nintendo's orders and work hard to remove Nintendo-related content.'
Facepunch Studios revealed that it is a difficult task to find content to delete from the approximately 180,000 mods for a game that has been on the market for about 18 years, and said, 'We are continuously deleting them.' They also warned users who upload mods, 'We will make efforts to delete Nintendo-related content and not upload Nintendo-related content again.'
