Adult Swim Games is a game publishing division that sells games under the American Cartoon Network's Adult Swim brand. Owen Deery, a game developer who has worked with Adult Swim Games to develop games, said that Warner Bros. Discovery plans to remove games released by Adult Swim Games.

Deery posted on X, ``Warner Bros. Discovery has notified me that the Small Radios Big Televisions I developed will be removed from both Steam and the PlayStation Store.''

In addition, after Mr. Deery was notified by Adult Swim Games that Small Radios Big Televisions would be removed, he made Small Radios Big Televisions available for anyone to download for free.

Warner Bros. Discovery is also known for canceling the release of nearly completed films such as Batgirl and Coyote vs. Acme, and removing multiple series from its streaming service.

In addition, if Adult Swim Games' games are deleted from Steam, 19 titles will disappear from Steam.

Polygon reached out to game makers who have worked with Adult Swim Games to ask if they had received a removal notice from Warner Bros. Discovery. Two game studios responded that they received similar warnings from Warner Bros. Discovery.

Michael Molinari, the developer of Soundodger+ , released by Adult Swim Games in 2013, announced that Warner Bros. Discovery would release the game from Steam within the next 60 days. He received a warning that it would be deleted. 'It is unclear whether the game will simply disappear from Steam or be removed,' Molinari said. 'I retain all intellectual property and rights to the game, so I will transfer the ownership to my company. I am begging the person in charge to do this: I will send Warner Bros. Discovery a link to the Steam Application Transfer page and that they can literally transfer ownership to me with three mouse clicks. However, Warner Bros. Discovery rejected my request.'

Warner Bros. Discovery apparently explained to Molinari that the reason they were unable to transfer ownership of the game on Steam was due to ``logistical and resource constraints'' and ``limitations in the team's capabilities.'' Mr. Molinari seems to have been given permission to re-release Soundodger + from Warner Bros. Discovery, but if the existing Steam page is deleted, ``more than 10 years of download history, community guides, review comments, patch notes, etc.'' Many of them will suddenly disappear,'' he laments. He also revealed that he was told that Warner Bros. Discovery's name should be removed from the credits when the film is re-released.

Matt Levandowski of Team2Bit , who developed Fist Puncher , also told Polygon that he received a takedown notice from Warner Bros. Discovery. Levandowski was told that the game had to be removed due to 'changes in internal business operations.'

Mr. Levandowski also asked for the ownership of Fist Puncher to be transferred, but the response from Warner Bros. Discovery was that ``We have decided not to transfer the ownership due to logistical and resource constraints.'' . 'It's been 11 years since Fist Puncher was released, and we've built a community for the game through Steam,' said Levandowski. 'We've had great experience working with Adult Swim over the years. Yes, the original team that helped us release Fist Puncher on Steam had a passion for elevating interesting and unique games from small studios. If ownership of Fist Puncher is not transferred to us, we will have to re-release the game under our own account. Since we own Fist Puncher, re-release is certainly possible. However. 'As someone who is passionate about preserving gaming history, it's disappointing to see the community we've built on Steam destroyed by corporate red tape.'

In addition, Polygon has contacted 10 game studios and individual developers who have released games from Adult Swim Games, but the developers who have not heard from Warner Bros. Discovery said, ``Probably soon. We will hear from them in due course,' he said.

Polygon has asked Warner Bros. Discovery for comment on its plan to remove games released by Adult Swim Games, but has not received a response at the time of writing.
