New iPad Pro and iPad Air likely to be announced in the second week of May, iPad Pro to increase price - GIGAZINE

At the time of writing, the latest iPad Pro models are the 11-inch and 12.9-inch models equipped with the M2, which was released in October 2022. The models rumored to be announced this time are the 11-inch and 13-inch models equipped with the M3 chip and OLED (organic light-emitting diode) display. Not only has the display of the new iPad Pro evolved to an OLED display, but the front camera has also been repositioned horizontally, placed on the long side instead of the short side. However, due to the adoption of a more expensive OLED display, it is expected that the price of the new iPad Pro will be higher than the 2022 model.

It is also rumored that the Magic Keyboard for this new iPad Pro will be announced at the event on May 7. This Magic Keyboard is made of aluminum and has a trackpad, and when connected to the iPad Pro, it will look like a laptop.

It has been reported that the iPad Air will be available in 11-inch and 12.9-inch M2-equipped models. According to previous reports , Apple had planned to release the new iPad Pro and iPad Air between the end of March and April 2024, but it appears that the release date has been pushed back to May due to software development delays.

In addition, Apple CEO Tim Cook posted a message on X (formerly Twitter) saying 'Pencil us in for May 7!', hinting at an announcement about a new Apple Pencil.

There are three different versions of the Apple Pencil : the first generation, which is charged by inserting it into the Lightning connector; the second generation , which can be charged by attaching it to the side of the iPad with a magnet; and a cheaper USB-C model that can be charged via USB-C but omits pressure detection.

Previous reports have said that a third-generation Apple Pencil codenamed 'B532' is in development. This third-generation Apple Pencil is expected to have a 'squeeze gesture' function that supports gripping, in addition to the tap gesture support that was available on previous Apple Pencils. Therefore, it is expected that the Apple Pencil-related announcement that CEO Cook is hinting at is the unveiling of this third-generation Apple Pencil.

It has been pointed out that X has prepared the following six logos for this 'Let Loose' project:
