The nuclear battery developed by Betavolt Technology combines nickel-63 isotope and China's first diamond semiconductor (4th generation) module. The idea of nuclear batteries itself was widely researched by the United States and the Soviet Union in the 1960s, but they were large, heavy, and expensive, and had many drawbacks, so they were mainly used for aerospace applications, and consumer products were not widespread.
