“Anywhere Animal Shogi” is a compact and easy-to-carry animal show that both children and adults can enjoy.

'

Animal Shogi ' is a board game with a shogi motif, and is played by lining up four types of pieces: a lion, an elephant, a giraffe, and a chick on a 3x4 board. I was given the `` Anywhere Animal Shogi '' as a gift , which is a more compact and portable version of the Animal Shogi that I can easily play on the go, so I decided to check out what kind of packaging it is in. Ta.

The package for ``Anywhere Animal Shogi'' features an elephant, chick, chicken, lion, and giraffe. The box is 3cm high, 11cm wide and 18cm long.

It is slightly smaller than the hardcover book (left), and slightly larger than the paperback book (right).

It looks like this when you hold it in your hand. It is a size that can be easily carried in a bag etc.

Weight is 204g.

When I opened the box, I found a drawstring bag for carrying, desiccant, various flyers, a play guide, a game board, and pieces.

When you open the folded game board, it looks like this. Of the 3 x 4 squares, the letters 'A, B, and C' are assigned to the three horizontal columns, and the numbers '1, 2, 3, and 4' are assigned to the four vertical rows. Masu.

This allows each square to be designated by a combination of letters and numbers, such as 'A1' and 'B2.'

You and your opponent each use 8 pieces of 4 types: chick, elephant, giraffe, and lion.

In addition, since chicks can '

become ' like in shogi, the back side is a chicken.

Easy to play. Spread out the folded game board and line up the animals as shown in the picture, with the three squares (letters A, B, and C) facing you and your opponent. Specifically, the lions are placed in “B1” and “B4,” the elephants are placed in “C1” and “A4,” the giraffes are placed in “A1” and “C4,” and the chicks are placed in “B2” and “B3.” Place.

Then, play rock-paper-scissors to decide who goes first and who goes last, and take turns moving each animal once. The animal moves one square at a time, and the direction in which it can move is indicated by a dot on the corner of the piece. The chick is 1 square in front, the elephant is 1 square diagonally, the lion is 1 square in all directions, and the giraffe is 1 square horizontally and vertically.

You can catch your opponent's animal by moving your animal to the square where your opponent's animal is. If the animal you catch is a lion, you win, but if it's any other animal, keep it as your companion.

Animals you catch and make into friends can be placed on empty spaces on the board during your turn.

When the chick reaches the opponent's first stage, it will evolve into a chicken. The chicken can move one space in all directions except diagonally backward.

In the end, the winner is the one who catches the opponent's lion. It looks simple because the number of pieces and squares is small, but when you actually try it, it's not so easy to win, and you have to think carefully to reach victory. When you actually play it, you will find that it is a fairly deep game that can be enjoyed not only by children but also by adults.

If you put the board and pieces in a drawstring bag, you can carry it more compactly than in a box.
