'Ad Accelerator' shortens advertisements on video sites such as YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, etc.

YouTube prevents users from avoiding ads by introducing

unskippable 30-second ads and blocking Adblock Plus , a major ad blocker. Many video distribution sites, not just YouTube, are actively distributing advertising videos, but ' Ad Accelerator ' is an extension that makes such advertising videos as short as possible.

Ad Accelerator is being developed by full stack developer Robert Karpinski . He started developing Ad Accelerator as a new ad avoidance solution after YouTube started taking an aggressive stance to ban ad blockers such as Adblock Plus and uBlock Origin .

Ad Accelerator originally started as an ad blocker that works on YouTube, but it also supports not only YouTube but also video distribution services such as Vimeo, Dailymotion, Netflix, and Hulu. Developer Karpinski said on the overseas bulletin board Hacker News , ``We have built a unique extension to avoid video ads.Advertisement videos will have their audio muted, playback speed 10 times faster, and skippable. If there is a button, it will be skipped.'' It does not delete advertisements, but emphasizes that it is an ``extension function to shorten the time that advertisements are played as much as possible.''

Ad Accelerator is available as an extension for Chrome and is available from the Chrome Web Store.

To install, open the distribution page in Chrome and click Add to 'Chrome'.

Click 'Add extension'.

When the following notification appears, the addition is complete.

When you actually add Ad Accelerator, as explained by developer Karpinski, ad videos will run at double speed, reducing the time spent on ads as much as possible.
