This is Ai Pin.
As the name suggests, Ai Pin is a device that can be pinned to clothes, walls, etc.
The main unit comes with a ``Battery Booster'' that attaches magnetically, and is designed to clip and secure clothes. In addition, 'Latch', which does not have a battery but can be made thinner, and 'Clip', which can be fixed with a clip instead of a magnet, will be sold separately.
There are three main body colors: Eclipse, Equinox, and Linar. Both have a black and white design and have a simple appearance.
You can charge the Ai Pin by inserting it into a small case.
Input to Ai Pin can be voice input via a microphone, touch input using a touchpad, and even gesture input using a 3D depth camera.
Although there is no display on the main body, it has a built-in laser beam scanning projection system that can project the screen at 720p resolution using a laser. The UI is projected onto the palm of your hand as shown below, allowing you to visually obtain various information. You can also switch screens and operate the UI using voice input and gesture input.
It also has a 13 megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a 120-degree viewing angle and f/2.4 aperture. By fixing it to your chest, you can record videos similar to an action cam. The resolution at the time of video shooting was not disclosed at the time of article creation.
Ai Pin is compatible with LTE and Wi-Fi, and features access to AI models from Microsoft and OpenAI. By speaking with voice input, you can request the assistant AI to send an email, search for information you are interested in, or play music on the spot.
Also, real-time translation is possible on the spot. The IT news site The Verge believes that the AI it can access is based on GPT-4, OpenAI's large-scale language model.
'Trust Light' is installed on the top of the main unit. The RGB LED allows you to notify yourself and those around you that you are using Ai Pin, and is also a countermeasure against hidden photography.
Notifications are made using an LED indicator called a 'Beacon' and vibration. This Beacon is angled so that only the wearer can see it, and the content of the notification can be determined by the color of the LED.
The installed OS is the independently developed '
Ai Pin is a set that includes the main unit, charger, and two battery boosters for $699. However, to use Humane's services, you need to sign up for a $24 monthly subscription plan. Additionally, a T-Mobile eSIM is required to access the LTE network. Reservations are available from November 16, 2023, and shipping is in early 2024, and at the time of writing, it will be rolled out first in the North American area.
