I ate ``Onimori! Mentai-don'' and ``Jumbo Onigiri'' at Mentai Park Biwa Lake, where the mentaiko is so big that the rice disappears first

'

Mentai Park Biwako ' is a mentaiko specialty theme park located a few kilometers from Biwako Ohashi Higashizume. At Mentai Park Biwako, you can eat ' Onimori! Mentaidon ' where the bowl is covered with mentaiko and 'Jumbo Onigiri' which has a large amount of mentaiko, so I went to Nimentai Park Biwako and tried the Onimori Mentaiko bowl. I've checked to see if it's full.

The location information of Mentai Park Biwako is as follows. Mentai Park Biwako is quite far from the nearest station, so we recommend heading there by car.

Arrived at Mentai Park Biwako. Mentai Park Biwako has a free parking lot for 800 cars, so we had plenty of space even when we arrived on a Sunday afternoon.

At the entrance, Mentai Park's characters ``Dr. Tarakon'' and ``Tarapiyo'' will greet you.

It is necessary to be careful as the dragonfly may attack from behind.

When we entered the room, giant balloons of Tarapiyo and Dr. Taracon were hanging. The interior of the store has a unified design with a white background and a red color similar to mentaiko.

Mentai Park Biwako has a factory attached to it, and we were able to observe the work being done through the glass.

Arrived at the food corner.

When I checked the menu, I found that the two dishes I was looking for were listed: 'Onimori! Mentai-don' (800 yen including tax) and 'Jumbo Onigiri (Karashi Mentaiko)' (390 yen including tax).

I bought 'Onimori! Mentai-don' and 'Jumbo Onigiri' and sat down.

The seat was in the best location with a view of Lake Biwa.

First of all, I will try eating from 'Onimori! Mentai-don'.

When you open the lid, it looks like this. A large amount of mentaiko is topped to completely cover the rice. Mentaiko included some with skin and some loosened.

Before eating, sprinkle with shredded seaweed and umami sauce.

This is what it looks like when you add shredded seaweed and umami sauce.

When you eat the skin-on mentaiko, you can feel the crunchy texture as soon as you bite into it, and then you can enjoy the chewy texture of each grain. The moment you put the loosened mentaiko in your mouth, it spreads on your tongue and fills your mouth with the taste of mentaiko. When I first started eating, I thought that the spiciness was mild and the sweetness of the sauce was strong, but as I continued to eat it, the aftertaste of the mentaiko began to build up, and I started to feel the tingling spiciness and saltiness. Ta.

Mentaiko is topped with an amount that lives up to the name 'Onimori'. With regular rice bowls, you need to consider the balance with the rice so that all the toppings remain till the end, but with ``Onimori! Mentai-don'', you feel like ``Maybe there isn't enough rice?'' There is no need to worry about running out. The rice served as a supporting role to soften the salty flavor of the mentaiko, and it was a dish that allowed you to enjoy the mentaiko.

Next, I will try 'Jumbo Onigiri (Mustard Mentaiko)'.

This is what it looks like when you peel off the wrapping paper. It was a type of rice ball wrapped in seaweed.

I compared the size of ``Jumbo Onigiri (Mustard Mentaiko)'' and a transportation IC card side by side. It feels twice as big as the rice balls you can buy at convenience stores.

When 'Jumbo Onigiri (Mustard Mentaiko)' was divided into two, it was packed with mustard mentaiko.

In the 'Onimori! Mentaiko bowl', the sweetness was added by the accompanying umami sauce, but in the 'Jumbo rice ball (mustard cod roe)' you can directly taste the tangy entanglement of the mustard cod roe.

Another great feature is that the mustard mentaiko is packed tightly from the top to the bottom of the triangle. 'Jumbo Onigiri (Karashi Mentaiko)' is a fairly large rice ball, but since the mentaiko occupies a large proportion of the rice ball, I kept eating it and ate it all in an instant.

Entrance fee to Mentai Park Biwako is free and it is open every day of the year from 9:00 to 18:00.
