A free feature has been added to Threads that allows you to edit posts later, so I tried using it.

The text-based SNS '

Threads' has added the ability to edit posts later and the ability to post audio, so we have summarized the steps to edit posts and the time limit for editing.

In addition to the smartphone app, Threads also has a web app that can be used from a PC. At the time of writing the article, I could not use the editing function in Threads for smartphones in the editorial department, but I could use the editing function in the web application version of Threads, so I actually tried using it.

First, click the menu button located to the right of the post you want to edit.

Click Edit when the menu appears. A countdown timer from 5 minutes was displayed on the right side of 'Edit'.

When the editing screen is displayed, rewrite the text and click 'Post'.

Then, the posted content has been replaced with the edited version. No indication has been added to the post to indicate that it has been edited.

When I clicked the menu button again after editing, the countdown continued from when the original version was posted before editing.

5 minutes after posting the original version, 'Edit' disappeared. Please note that in Threads, you can only edit for 5 minutes after posting.

At the same time as the announcement of the post editing function, the addition of the audio posting function was also announced, but at the time of writing the article, the audio posting function could not be used with the smartphone version of Threads or the web application version of Threads managed by the editorial department. Some users seem to be provided with an audio posting function; for example, the following post by Tom Warren, editor-in-chief of the overseas media ``The Verge'', has audio embedded.

Meta, which operates Threads, has previously stated that it has no plans to specialize Threads in news , and on October 11, 2023, Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, said, ``Users will You can post news on Threads and we won't get in your way. However, we will not attempt to increase the amount of news on Threads. 'It's too dangerous given its maturity and stakes,' he said, maintaining a stance of avoiding focusing on news.
