A movie that disassembles the iPhone 15 Pro Max appears on YouTube, and the internal structure and parts look like this

A disassembly movie of the iPhone 15 Pro Max released on September 22, 2023 is available on YouTube.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max is the first iPhone to use titanium for its exterior frame.

The camera also supports 5x optical zoom.

Keeping in mind these differences from previous iPhones, let's disassemble it. First, remove the screws on the bottom with a special screwdriver.

Then heat the surface to melt the adhesive and use a suction cup or pick to remove the display.

The display is connected to the main unit by a cable, so carefully open it.

Remove the cable connecting the display and the main unit.

The display separation is now complete. Unlike previous iPhones, the plastic surrounding it is white.

Below the screen is the battery, which is the part most likely to be repaired.

To remove the battery you will need to peel off the 3 adhesive tapes. The tape should come off when I slowly pull on the edge, but I can't.

I have no choice but to remove the speaker first.

And also remove the Taptic Engine. It was necessary to remove 10 screws to remove the speaker and Taptic Engine.

Inject isopropyl alcohol with a concentration of 90% or more to reduce the adhesive strength of the adhesive tape.

I was able to safely remove the battery.

The battery capacity is 17.1Wh, which is approximately 2.5% higher than the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Next, remove the camera module.

Only three screws are used, although many cables need to be removed.

Furthermore, the screws are larger than those on the iPhone 14 Pro Max, making them easier to handle.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max's camera uses a structure that Apple calls 'tetra prism.'

Remove the lens from the camera module.

Then open the sensor part.

Then I saw a tetraprism structure.

By reflecting light four times inside this component, it is possible to extend the focal length while maintaining space savings.

Except for the tetra prism parts, the same size parts as the iPhone 14 Pro Max are used.

The number of remaining parts has also decreased. Next, remove the logic board.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max's logic board looks identical to the iPhone 15 Pro's.

If you take a closer look inside, you'll see

a 3nm process Apple A17 Pro installed in the middle.

All modem chips are made by Qualcomm. Apple is said to be developing its own modem internally, but it has been announced that it has a contract

to use Qualcomm chips at least until devices released in 2026 .

The iPhone 15 Pro Max has a 'dual entry' design that can be opened from the back side in addition to the display side, making it easy to replace the back glass.

All iPhone 15 series use USB-C.

Titanium was used for the exterior frame. Compared to the iPhone 14 Pro Max's weight of 240g, the iPhone 15 Pro Max weighs 221g, which is a weight reduction of 19g. By reducing the weight on the outer periphery, the center of gravity is closer to the center, making it easier to handle than the numbers indicate.

However, it has been found that titanium has a higher environmental impact when manufactured than iron or aluminum, and is also more easily scratched and less resistant to drops.

Next, let's check the software side.

Following the iPhone 14, issues with pairing and calibration are occurring.

In particular, there are problems with the front camera, which stops working when parts are replaced.

In addition, there have been other problems such as crashes when replacing the LiDAR sensor, and it seems that it is a product that is difficult to repair from a software perspective, regardless of the hardware aspect.
