I tried the natto curry set at the original natto curry restaurant, Curry Shop Yamagoya.

The curry restaurant ' Curry Shop Yamagoya ' in Nagano City is known as the original natto curry restaurant . It is only a 5-minute walk from the station, so I stopped by during my trip and had some natto curry.

If you walk past the shop and go to the end of the alley, you will come out onto the street like this. The alley is quite narrow, and if you don't know the shop is there from the start, you might miss it.

The menu offers a wide variety of combinations of curry and toppings, but this time I chose the 'Natto Curry Set.'

First, salad.

For pre-meal drinks, you can choose from a glass of wine, a glass of beer, or juice (orange juice or grapefruit juice).

The curry and rice are served on separate plates. The curry is a spicy beef curry topped with a fried egg and natto. The fried food in front is fried eggplant.

Apparently this is the store's most recommended item.

The combination of chunky cubed beef curry and natto is quite strong, but the spicy curry is not overpowered by the strength of the natto. I would like to try combining it with other toppings and find the best natto curry for myself.

The fried Teiza eggplant is thickly sliced and the flesh is juicy and fluffy, making it very satisfying to eat.

After the meal, hot coffee or iced coffee and yogurt ice cream are also included.

The natto curry set is 1,790 yen including tax. Curry Shop Yamagoya is closed on Wednesdays, and the last order is from 11:00 to 15:30 during the day, and from 17:30 to 20:30 during the evening.
