'Space Invaders World Defense' is an application game for smartphones distributed free for Android and iOS . 'Space Invaders World Defense' is recommended to be played outdoors, and the purpose is to shoot down invaders that appear from the shadows of real buildings with a smartphone and protect the earth from alien invasion.

Players can explore their neighborhoods looking for invaders and earn points by defeating them. Unlock special power-ups, compete with nearby friends for the highest score, and take AR selfies to share your score on social media.

Below are the 'self-portraits using AR' that can be taken with 'Space Invaders World Defense'. The score of the game is displayed together.

In addition, although I actually installed the application, it seems that the game can not be played when it detects indoor play, so it is completely dedicated to outdoor play.

'Space Invaders World Defense' uses Google's AR platform ARCore and geospatial API to recognize not only the player's surroundings but also buildings, etc., to realize a shooting game in AR.

In addition, the Japanese version trailer of 'Space Invaders World Defense' has also been released, and this one has a better understanding of the actual gameplay than the overseas version.
