According to the Ecuadorian Ministry of Health, which investigated the incident, 76-year-old Bella Montoya, who lives in Ecuador, was brought to an emergency hospital with a stroke and cardiopulmonary arrest and was receiving intensive care. However, despite treatment, he remained unresponsive to resuscitation and was declared dead by doctors.

According to his daughter Barbera, Mr. Montoya was already unconscious when he was brought to the hospital, and was told that he died hours later and was given a death certificate.

Later that day, Mr. Montoya was taken to the funeral home and a wake was held with his relatives watching over him. However, five hours after the wake began, a strange sound was heard from inside the coffin. When the family approached, he heard the sound of breathing and the sound of hitting the coffin, so he immediately took Mr. Montoya out of the coffin and rushed to the hospital.

Although Mr. Montoya's 'resurrection' was confirmed, Mr. Montoya is in a serious condition even after two days have passed since the wake, and doctors do not have a good view of the prognosis. 'There were about 20 people at the wake, and we were all terrified,' said Barbera, who witnessed her mother's recovery. Right now, I'm just praying for my mother's health to improve.

The Ecuadorian media covered this unusual event with headlines celebrating the resurrection of women. Ecuador's Ministry of Health has set up a technical commission to investigate the doctors involved in the incident and to review the hospital's procedures for issuing death certificates.
