Intel is developing a supercomputer 'Aurora' in cooperation with Argonne National Laboratory in the United States. It was announced on May 23, 2023 that the delivery of Intel CPUs and GPUs to Aurora was completed.

Aurora has 21,248 Intel CPUs and 63,744 Intel GPUs, and the processing performance is amazing 2EFLOPS (exaflops).

Utilizing Aurora, which boasts such overwhelming processing performance, Intel is working on the development of generative AI with over 1 trillion parameters. Generative AI under development is trained using texts in scientific fields such as biology, physics, chemistry, and medicine, and is scientifically trained such as ``identification of the biological process of cancer'' and ``assistance in drug discovery''. It is said to be used for this purpose.
