Mask CEO said, 'Our 'algorithm' is very complicated and not completely elucidated internally. You will probably find a lot of unreasonable parts, but we will patch it as soon as we find a problem. We are working on a simpler approach to provide more engaging tweets, but it's still incomplete. We plan to open source this too.Ensuring code transparency can be very confusing at first. But it will rapidly improve the quality of our recommendations, and most importantly, earn your trust,' he tweeted.
Our “algorithm” is overly complex & not fully understood internally. People will discover many silly things , but we'll patch issues as soon as they're found!

This isn't the first time Musk has announced the idea of open sourcing related code for Twitter. In March 2022, before acquiring Twitter, Mask CEO used Twitter's survey function to ask his followers 'Should Twitter's algorithm be open sourced?' At this time, 82.7% of the respondents answered that they should 'open source'.

And after the acquisition, on February 22, 2023, he tweeted, ``It may be disappointing at first when our algorithm is open sourced next week, but it will improve rapidly.'' . However, Twitter's code was never open sourced during February 2023.
Prepare to be disappointed at first when our algorithm is made open source next week, but it will improve rapidly!

In addition, software developer Travis Fisher has been considering whether Twitter's algorithm can actually be open sourced, and a pseudo code that simplifies the ranking algorithm for actually judging Twitter's relevance is open to the public.
