An electronic paper type instant camera that allows you to enjoy once-in-a-lifetime monochrome photos

An instant camera that can instantly display a photographed photograph on electronic paper was developed by electronic paper enthusiast

Cameron Dowd . The photo displayed on the electronic paper is overwritten each time you take a picture, making it a device that allows you to enjoy the charm of a once-in-a-lifetime chance.

The electronic paper instant camera looks like this. When you press the shutter button on the upper right, a black and white photo is displayed on the electronic paper on the back. There is no photo saving function, and every time you take a photo, it will be replaced with a new photo.

The electronic paper part is attached with a magnet and can be replaced with another electronic paper.

Since the electronic paper battery does not need to be replaced, you can use it as a photo frame without worrying about the battery.

The device with the shutter button is equipped with 'ESP32' for the microcontroller and 'OV2640' for the image sensor. Since NFC is used for power supply and data transfer when rewriting the electronic paper, there is no need to connect the electronic paper and the shooting device by wire.

You can check how the subject is actually shot with the electronic paper instant camera in the following movie.
