Research results that the identity of the unidentified animal Bigfoot is ``a bear standing on two legs''

Bigfoot is an unidentified animal (UMA) that can be seen in the United States, and is said to look like a giant ape-man with a height of about 2m that walks on two legs. A paper claiming that the identity of such a bigfoot is 'highly likely to be a bear standing on two legs' was posted to bioRxiv, a preprint server in the fields of life sciences and medicine.

If it's there, could it be a bear?

In UMA like Bigfoot, first of all, there are 'real factions' and 'non-existent factions', and among the non-existent factions, various theories have been proposed about 'UMA's identity'. In the case of Bigfoot, there are maddening theories and bear theories, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) concluded in 1976 that it was ``a kind of deer'' as a result of analyzing ``body hair that seems to belong to Bigfoot.'' Newly, data scientist Floe Foxon focused on the influential `` bear theory '' as the identity of Bigfoot and studied ``distribution of sightings of bears and bigfoots inhabiting the North American continent''.

Bears generally move on four legs, but they have been known to stand or walk on two legs at times. You can see how bears actually walk with two legs like humans by watching the following movie.

Two bears curiously watching a bus slowly slow down.

Then the bears suddenly stood up on their hind legs.

In addition, one head started walking with two legs like a human wearing a costume.

Also, from 2014 to 2016, a black bear called ' Pedals ', which was witnessed in New Jersey, USA, was photographed walking with two legs due to the injury of the forefoot and called a big topic.

Mr. Foxon analyzed data on bigfoot sightings since the 20th century collected by the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization , the population of black bears, and population density in the United States and Canada. Population density is also taken into consideration, as the more people living in an area, the more Bigfoot sightings are likely to occur.

A regression model analysis found a correlation between greater numbers of black bears and humans and greater numbers of Bigfoot sightings, especially in the Pacific Northwest. According to Foxon, in some states and regions, there was a trend of 'one Bigfoot sighting for every 900 black bears.'

On the other hand, there were exceptions in Texas and Florida where black bear breeding was not confirmed, despite the many sightings of Sasquatch (Sasquatch), which is often identified with Bigfoot. Foxon said, 'Specifically, Sasquatch sightings have been reported in states where breeding black bears have not been documented. This could be interpreted as evidence of the presence of an unknown hominid in North America. It can be done, but it can also be explained by the possibility of misidentification of other animals (including humans).'

``In conclusion, there may be many bears in areas where there are many bigfoots,'' Foxon concluded.
