I have eaten a Valentine's Day limited menu 'Miso and Mole's chocolate tsukemen' that made chocolate tsukemen at noodles and Sho

February 14th is Valentine's Day, so many chocolates are lined up in convenience stores and supermarkets. There are also limited menus using chocolate at various shops, but at the ramen shop '

Menya Shono ' in Tokyo, chocolate and miso are combined to make tsukemen called ' Miso and Mole Chocolate Tsukemen.' ” will be available from Wednesday, February 1, 2023. I was really worried about what kind of taste it would be when chocolate and tsukemen were combined, so I actually tried it.

Chocolate tsukemen is served at Mensho in Ichigaya and sister shops MENSHO in Shono and Gokokuji. This time I headed to Menya Shono in Ichigaya. The address is 1-3 Crescent Building 1F, Ichigaya Tamachi, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo .

I came to Menya Shono.

Purchase a meal ticket for 'Miso and Mole Chocolate Tsukemen' at the ticket vending machine. The price is 1400 yen including tax.

About 10 minutes after purchasing the meal ticket, 'Miso and mole chocolate tsukemen' was brought.

The noodles are noodles kneaded with chocolate, so they are exactly like chocolate. The ingredients are duck loin, oranges, herbs, and topped with crushed nuts.

In addition, cocoa powder was sprinkled on the bowl where the noodles were served.

The dipping sauce is a chicken-based soup, topped with dried tomatoes, star anise, char siu, and green onions, and topped with fresh cream and cacao sauce.

I took a sip of the dipping sauce first. It was a miso soup with chicken stock, but the claim of miso is not strong. The scent of spices such as cumin seeds and star anise, and the spiciness of chili peppers contained in

mole , a Mexican sauce, are felt, and it tastes like spice curry rather than miso soup.

The noodles have a square cross section and are a little hard, and when you pick them up with chopsticks, they feel like Japanese soba. Cocoa powder is also applied, and the scent of cacao drifts gently. When I ate only the noodles, there was no sweetness at all, but I felt the bitterness peculiar to chocolate.

I dipped the noodles in the dipping sauce and ate it. The aroma of chocolate is strong, but it is not sweet at all. Although it is spicy, the miso gives it a slightly mellow taste, but the cacao's faint bitterness tightens the taste. In addition, the aroma of the nuts that were topped on the noodles adds a nice accent to the crunchy texture.

Orange is a familiar combination when it is chocolate, but it is quite a rare garnish for tsukemen. When I squeezed it into the noodles and ate it, I was surprised that the sourness and sweetness of the orange go well with the dipping sauce. Before eating, I was wondering if it would be delicious to combine chocolate and tsukemen ...? So, it was quite an ant.

'Miso and mole chocolate tsukemen' is available for a limited time until February 14th of Valentine's Day at Menyasho, Gokokuji MENSHO , Korakuen MENSHO TOKYO , and Shinjuku Mylord MENSHOsf .
