Succeeded to play DOOM with Windows Notepad
Since its release in 1993, ``DOOM'' has been ported by fans to various media such as
DOOMpad by samperson

You can see how you are actually playing DOOM with Notepad from the following movie.
so i got DOOM running inside of Notepad - YouTube
The notepad version of DOOM ported by game developer Sam Chiet looks like this. Movement is expressed by making letters appear and disappear. The original is just a memo pad, so of course it's displayed in black and white, but the images move very smoothly, so you can kind of understand what they're doing. The game is said to be displayed at 60fps.
Enemy characters and gun muzzle flashes are also reproduced in detail. However, it's not easy on the eyes, as the bottom half of the screen periodically flashes white.
DOOM creator John Romero, who saw the video, commented, ``I can't believe it.''
Incredible.

Mr. Chiet did not reveal how he accomplished this port, but it seems that he did not particularly modify the Notepad application itself.
The method of expressing animation on notepad has been confirmed for some time, and in 2020, programmer Kyle Halladay achieved the feat of ``displaying animation on notepad at 30 fps.'' Click on the image below to play the animation.
In addition, Windows seems to recognize Mr. Chiet's game as malware.
Windows is 100% convinced I have perfectly recreated the Ulthar malware

So that's just gonna happen and you're all gonna have to deal. There's some specific screwery I do for DOOMpad that aren't normal in Notepad games, apparently. pic.twitter.com/RfNF9FJ2M4
