Queen Elizabeth was born in 1926 as the eldest daughter of Prince Albert, Duke of York and Princess Elizabeth. When his father ascended the throne as George VI in 1936, he was first in line to the throne.
In 1947, she married Prince Philip, who was from the royal family of Greece and served in the Royal Navy.
In 1952, George VI died and he succeeded to the throne as 'Elizabeth II'. This name was chosen by the Queen herself. 'Elizabeth I' is a 16th-century figure, the last Queen of the Tudor dynasty, and known as the Queen of England's Golden Age.
In 1975, he made his first and only visit to Japan.

In 2007, he surpassed his great-grandmother, Queen Victoria, to become the oldest monarch in British history at the age of 81. In 2015, he became the longest reigning monarch in British history, surpassing Queen Victoria's reign (63 years and 7 months).
In addition, since the death of King Rama IX (born in 1927, ascended to the throne in 1946) in 2016, he has become the longest living monarch. His final reign was 70 years and 7 months, the second longest reign in the world after King Louis XIV of France (72 years and 110 days).

The order of succession to the British throne is Prince Charles (73 years old), Duke of Wales, and Prince William (40 years old), Duke of Cambridge. The right of succession to the throne is lost when a person converts to Catholicism, but the loss of right of succession due to marriage with a Catholic was abolished in 2015, and the total number of successors to the throne is believed to be less than 5,000.
