'There is no charge for posting and sharing NFTs on Instagram,' Moseri said. The blockchains that will be supported at launch are Ethereum and Polygon, and it will also support Flow and Solana at a later date. Available third-party wallets include Rainbow, MetaMask, Trust Wallet, and Coinbase, Dapper, Phantom, etc. will soon be supported.

'We want to be aware in advance that NFTs and blockchain technologies are trust-dispersing and power-dispersing, but Instagram is basically a centralized platform, so there. I'm nervous. One of the reasons we started NFT support on a small scale is because we want to make sure we can learn from the community. Instagram is certainly a centralized platform, but decentralized. We want to find a way to embrace our belief in trust and decentralized power, and we see it as one of the unique opportunities to make Web3 technology available to a wider audience, especially NFTs. I think it will be interesting not only to the creators who create it, but also to those who want to collect it. '

Meta's CEO Mark Zuckerberg also revealed that he plans to introduce similar features to Facebook. In addition, Zuckerberg said he will be able to bring 3D NFTs into Instagram stories using Spark AR , a software AR platform.

Alexandre Voika , Meta's EMEA Technology Officer, said, 'Meta starts with NFT because NFT is an important aspect of Metaverse's economic potential, but it's just an example of the technology Meta explores. 'It's just that,' he said, adding that Meta is researching Web3 technology to reduce costs, increase access, and accelerate innovation for creators and people around the world.
