Amazon adds 'a function to give gifts to people who do not know the address with just an email address or phone number'

Amazon has a '

wish list ' that allows you to give gifts that are on your friend's wish list. Taking this a step further, Amazon has announced the ability to give gifts to people who don't know their address, as long as they know their email address or phone number.

Amazon's new gift feature will be available on the mobile app for Prime members. It's easy to use, and you can add the items you want to give as gifts to your cart as usual.

Then, you can select the option 'Add a gift receipt for easy returns'. Check this and click 'Proceed to checkout'.

On the shipping address selection screen, you will see a new option called 'Let the recipient provide their address', select it.

All you have to do is enter the recipient's email address or phone number. It is also possible to add a message to the recipient of the gift here.

After setting up to this point, the payment will be completed at the end. All you have to do is enter the other party's email address or phone number, and you can give a gift without knowing the address.

Gift recipients will receive the following notifications from Amazon:

You can receive or refuse to receive gifts from here. The recipient of the gift can specify the destination of the gift from here.

Recipients can also redeem gifts for

Amazon Gift Certificates. Don't worry, the gift giver will not be notified that the gift has been exchanged for an Amazon Gift Certificate.

This new feature will be available to all Prime members in the United States from October 4, 2021, but it's okay if the gift giver is a Prime member. Recipients can receive gifts without any problems even if they are not Prime members. If the recipient ignores the gift notification, the gift will expire within a few days and a refund will be given to the gift giver.

Regarding the new gift feature, foreign media The Verge points out that 'it seems like a bad idea for scammers, stalkers and other people who are willing to harass online.'
