Twitter is testing the ability to make thumbnails on the timeline huge
Twitter has begun testing the ability to magnify images and movies on the timeline to the edges of the screen.

Edge to edge Tweets that span the width of the timeline so your photos, GIFs, and videos can have more room to shine.
In the previous timeline, if the tweet contained an image or movie, it was displayed with margins on both sides as shown below.
The new display method under test looks like this. Images and movies are magnified to fill the edges of the screen, allowing you to see them in a larger size than before.
According to Twitter, the new display method is being tested on iOS for some users of Twitter. It will also be available to Android users after repeated adjustments.

This new display method is also being tested by Japanese users, but at the time of writing the article, there were many opinions that it felt 'uncomfortable.' Technology media The Verge also said, 'Searching on Twitter reveals a lot of negative opinions about the new display method. It's clear that Twitter needs to make adjustments.'
