PlayStation has updated the 'Important Notice' page on its official website and announced that it will end the new purchase function for content on PlayStation 3 (PS3) and PlayStation Vita (PS Vita) in the summer of 2021.

As of March 30, 2021, the PlayStation official has updated the 'Important Notice' page and announced that it will end new purchases of content on PS3 and PS Vita. PS3 will not be able to use the new content purchase function on July 2, 2021 (Friday), and PS Vita will be unavailable on August 27, 2021 (Friday).

In addition, although the PSP had finished purchasing new content on the PlayStation Store as of the end of March 2016, the content available on the PSP can be purchased by accessing the PlayStation Store on PS Vita, PS3, PC, mobile, etc. However, I was able to transfer the content to the PSP and enjoy it. However, this feature will no longer be available as of July 2, 2021 (Friday).

In addition, the functions that can be used even after the PlayStation Store and content purchase functions are completed on PS3, PS Vita, and PSP are as follows.

・ Re-download game titles purchased in the past
· Access to previously purchased video / media content
・ Redemption of code numbers for games and PlayStation Plus
・ Re-download and play game titles obtained on PS Plus (if you continue to subscribe to the service)

The functions that will not be available due to the end of the purchase function service are as follows.

・ Purchase digital content for PS3, PS Vita, and PSP, including game / video content
・ In-game billing from PS3, PS Vita, PSP
・ After the PS Store service or purchase function on PS3, PS Vita, or PSP ends, you will not be able to charge your wallet using your PlayStation Store card / ticket. The balance of the PlayStation Network wallet remains in the PSN account, but it can only be used when purchasing PS4 and PS5 products from the PS Store, PlayStation App, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on the web.

Games you already own can be re-downloaded at any time from the download list. You can also access the PS3 / PS Vita / PSP version by purchasing cross-buy content from the PlayStation Store on the web or the PlayStation App, PS4, and PS5.

In addition, video content purchased on PS3, PS Vita, and PSP can be re-downloaded at any time, and can be viewed at any time from

the My Video app on PS3, PS4, PS5 or the PlayStation Video app for mobile.
