Apple releases a worksheet called '30 Creative Activities for Kids' to teach children how to have fun and be creative while staying at home



As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread, an increasing number of countries are taking measures to close schools. Many schools in Japan have been closed for extended periods, including daycare centers and kindergartens. Apple's education team has released a worksheet called ' 30 Creative Activities for Kids ' for children aged 4 to 8 who are bored at home.

Details of each are as follows.

◆1: Let's try personifying it
Take a photo of something you see at home or outside every day, and draw on it to transform it into a character. Open a photo you took with your iPhone, tap 'Edit,' tap the '...' icon in the top right, and use 'Markup.'



◆2: Let's shoot a time-lapse movie
Use your iPhone to record a time-lapse movie of your child putting building blocks together, making their favorite snacks, putting away toys, or even melting ice. Launch the Camera app, select 'Time Lapse,' and tap the Record button to start recording. When you're done, tap the Record button again.

◆3: Let's make a coloring book
Create a black and white coloring book by taking a photo of your home or garden, then color it in with Markup. Open the photo you want to color in the Photos app and tap Edit. Choose one of the black and white filters and your coloring book is complete. You can also create a book using the

Pages app.

◆4: Create a name with a photo
Create your own name by taking pictures of letters from books or signs. Extract the letters from a photo and arrange them in the Keynote app.



◆5: Go out for a photo shoot
Choose your favorite color or letter and take photos of objects around your home or yard that are that color or start with that letter. Combine photos of colors to create a rainbow or photos of letters to create an alphabet. Add photos or recorded voices to slides in the Keynote app.

◆6: Capture colors in slow motion
Try filming food coloring dripping into water. Something interesting happens when you drip one color first, then another. Use the 'slow motion' feature in your camera app to record.

◆7: Express your mood with emojis
Draw silly eyes, happy faces, or eyebrows in circles to share your mood with friends. Add an image to a slide in the Keynote app and draw with the drawing tool.



◆8: Make a timetable for the things you normally do
Create a timetable by taking photos of your daily routine, adding titles and times to the photos, and adding text and checkboxes to the photos in the Keynote app.

◆9: Try keeping a diary
Download the calendar template to label your calendar and express the day, month, season, weather, temperature, mood, etc.

◆10: Find shapes in nature
Go out into your garden, take a photo, and try finding triangles and squares in it. Open the Photos app on your iPhone, tap 'Edit' → '...' → 'Markup,' and trace the shapes you find.



◆11: Let's make a book
Tell your own story with photos and videos. Add photos and videos to the Pages app, then add titles and illustrations.

◆12: Let's create a story using only shapes
Create a story using only shapes on a new page. Open the Pages app and tap '+'. Add various shapes from the 'Shapes' menu.

◆13: Let's film an interview
Record yourself asking and answering questions. Use the recorder feature in the

GarageBand app to record an alien-speaking voice.

◆14: Make the movie look like an anime
Record a video of yourself or your favorite toys in Clips , use the Comic Book filter, and stitch together your videos to tell your own story.

◆15: Research things that interest you
Just say 'Hey Siri' to your iPhone or iPad and ask a question like 'Why is the sky blue?' and Siri will answer your question.

◆16: Take some old photos
Open a photo you like in the Photos app, tap 'Edit,' and then click the icon with three overlapping circles to turn the image black and white.

◆17: Write a love letter to the Earth
Take a photo of your favorite place, draw it, and explain aloud why it's your favorite. Add a photo to the Pages or Keynote app, then click the '+' icon and select 'Record Audio,' or add a shape.

◆18: Have fun learning your multiplication tables
Record your voice counting the times tables in the GarageBand app and use effects to make it sound like a monster or alien.



◆19: Arrange shapes to create patterns
Let's create a pattern by arranging shapes on a blank page. Tap the '+' icon in the Page app and select the shapes menu. Drag and arrange the shapes. You can also draw on the shapes using 'Draw.'

◆20: Try replacing pictures and symbols
Open Keynote, tap the '+' icon, and select the Shapes menu. Replace the 'template' shapes below with your favorite shapes.

◆21: Let's solve the puzzle using emojis
Create sentences using only emojis and quiz each other with your siblings or friends. Open a document in the Pages app and combine emojis using the emoji icon at the bottom left of the keyboard.



◆22: Make a pillow tower
Build a tower of pillows and record it collapsing in slow motion. Select 'Slow Motion' in the Camera app and tap the record button.

◆23: Let's try using the Clone Technique
Try appearing twice in a panoramic photo taken by someone else. Select 'Panorama' from the camera app. Appear once when the photo starts, then walk behind the person holding the camera and appear again when the photo finishes.

◆24: Send a bouquet of flowers
Tap the '+' icon in the Pages app, select 'Nature' from the shapes menu, choose a flower shape, and give a bouquet to someone special.


◆25: Listen to some interesting stories
Just say 'Hey Siri, make me laugh' to your iPhone or iPad.

◆26: Take a photo of yourself touching the sky
Lie down on the ground, look up, and take a photo of someone in your family jumping up and reaching for the sky. It will look like they're touching the sky.

◆27: Try becoming an artist
Open a blank slide in the Keynote app, add a photo, tap the '+' icon, and select 'Draw.' Simply trace around the photo and erase it to easily draw.

◆28: Send audio to a friend
Record a funny story or greeting in the Voice Memos app and email it to someone.

◆29: Arrange the pictures in the correct order
Take photos of the steps for washing your hands: 'turning on the tap,' 'putting water on your hands,' 'putting soap on your hands,' 'rubbing your hands,' 'rinsing the soap off with water,' and 'drying your hands,' and then arrange them in the correct order. With the Clips app, you can also create a short movie.

◆30: Make your photos cool
Select your photo in the Photos app, tap 'Edit,' then select the '...' icon. Use 'Markup' to enhance your photo. Color hair, draw a unicorn horn, or even a cape.
