High-speed action battle game `` One Step From Eden '' reviewing building decks with random hands of Nintendo Switch review

Nintendo Switch version of ' One Step From Eden ' appeared on March 26, 2020, where high-speed battles with enemies in random hands and quick strategy construction are the key to the game. It appeared in Game Boy Advance in 2001, and it was a

tribute to the battle system of ' Battle Network Rockman Exe ' which was also made into a manga and an anime. I actually played what kind of game it was.

You can see what kind of battle system “One Step From Eden” is by looking at the following movie.

The battle of Nintendo Switch's Rockman Exe-like deck building action game `` One Step From Eden '' looks something like this-YouTube

The One Step From Eden start screen looks like this. One Step From Eden has a single player mode where you can play alone, a CO-OP mode where you can fight together with local communication, and a PvP mode where you can play against each other. This time, select 'Single Player Mode' and play alone.

There are 9 playable characters. The first available is a military scholar, Saffron.

Go to the battle screen as soon as you select a character. The battle screen looks like this.

The blue 4x4 square is the player's own position that indicates the range that the player can move, and the red 4x4 square is the enemy position that indicates the range that the enemy can move.

At the bottom left of the screen is an attack method called 'spelling', which is automatically replenished one by one to the A button and B button. The numbers “100” and “40” below the frame indicate the amount of damage done to the enemy, and the numbers inside the frame indicate the mana cost.

Mana is the point needed to launch an attack, and mana cost is the number of mana consumed. Saffron has an initial mana of 3 and will recover over time. If you don't have enough mana, you will be short of mana and will not be able to attack.

On the far left is the deck, which shows the spell record. After attacking, spells are automatically refilled from the deck to each button.

When the deck runs out of spells, the decks are automatically refilled with the spelling order shuffled.

The diamond-shaped white frame is the point of impact of your spell.

red! The frame of the mark is where the enemy's attack will land.

Below each character, the remaining health is displayed.

If you attack and reduce the enemy's health to 0, you win. The battle is over.

If you win the battle, you can get one favorite spell from three spells as a reward.

The numbers in the blue frame at the top left are the mana required to perform the trick. The number in the red frame at the bottom right is the amount of damage done to the enemy.

After choosing a reward, you will be taken to a test-playable field with no enemies, so you can try out new spells.

You can also check the deck during test play. Saffron's initial spells are 'Thunder', 'Kinetic Wave', 'Step Slash', and 'Frost Bolt'.

You can check what kind of technique each spell is in the following movie in the order of 'Thunder', 'Kinetic Wave', 'Step Slash', 'Frost Bolt'. In addition, since all are fast, the movie is edited at 0.5 times speed for easy viewing.

After the test play, the next stage selection screen is displayed.

Each stage is divided into a battle, rescue signal, hazard, mini-boss battle stage, a camp where you can recover your strength, and a shop where you can shop, and each stage has different features.

For example, if you select the rescue signal stage ...

The battle begins while protecting non-combatants. Rewards change depending on whether you have protected or defeated non-combatants.

Select a shop ...

You can spend credits obtained after the end of a battle to purchase items and spells called artifacts.

Artifacts you have are displayed at the top left of the screen. There are various types such as raising mana and restoring physical strength.

For example, an artifact with an angel-like icon called “Second Soul” is when your health is reduced to 0…

It can be revived automatically and can recover 600 health.

A boss is waiting at the end of the stage.

A normal battle is quite fast, but the boss has a high level of physical strength and the attack is delivered in rapid succession. The state of the boss battle can be understood well by watching the following movie.

To fight against the boss, you need to acquire powerful spells to become stronger, but it is not a good idea to get too many spells. Since the order of spells is always random, it is extremely difficult to grasp the effects of a large amount of spells, check the order of spells in a high-speed battle, and use them accurately.

In addition, you cannot delete the spells you have acquired without purchasing a service called 'spell elimination' in the shop. You can't easily throw away a spell and say 'I don't need it'.

At the end of the battle, you can skip without acquiring spells, so it is important to determine which spells are necessary and not increase unnecessary spells.

The order of appearing enemies and bosses is determined at random, so I want to play many times and memorize the attack pattern to clear crisp. You'll be able to play a variety of ways, such as rushing through early spells, getting and experimenting with different spells, and finding the strongest deck that can handle any situation.

'One Step From Eden' can be downloaded and purchased on Nintendo Switch and Steam, and the price is 2050 yen including tax.
