The 'Windowmate RT Series ' for home use, which is a commercial robot 'Windowmate' that automatically wipes and cleans glass windows, is now available. Even for glass windows that are difficult to clean, such as 'it is troublesome to prepare and clean up' and 'some sizes are out of reach and cannot be wiped without a stepladder', both the indoor and outdoor sides are automatically operated with the push of a button. It will be cleaned. I had the opportunity to touch the 'Windowmate RT Series', so I had them actually clean the window glass.

This time, it is a 75 cm x 220 cm glass window that the window cleaning robot will wipe and clean. Heights over 2m cannot be cleaned without a springboard and are so cumbersome that they are only cleaned once or twice a year.
Four types of window mate RT series are available depending on the thickness of the window glass. Therefore, it is necessary to measure the thickness of the window glass and the thickness of the window frame that you want to clean before using. Hold the window vertically with two stag-like corners and read the scale below to measure the thickness of the window. The thickness of this window is between 5mm and 10mm, so RT-10 is a compatible model.
Also, if the thickness of the window frame is less than 3 mm, it cannot be used. This window frame is obviously higher than 3mm so there is no problem.

When you peel off the urethane sheet that is the cushioning material, you can see the main body of Windowmate RT-10.
The left is a cleaning unit that wipes the outside, and the size is 250 mm x 250 mm x 50 mm. The navigation unit on the right wipes the inside, and the size is 263 mm x 250 mm x 56 mm.

Like the cleaning unit, the back of the navigation unit is equipped with a silicon guard and a hook-and-loop fastener.

Although it looks like a dry battery, it is about 1.5 times larger than a general AA battery.
Two batteries are inserted into the navigation unit, and it takes up to 7 hours to fully charge. Charging is complete when the charger LED turns green.
A detergent for windowmates in a spray bottle was also included in the set.

A cleaning pad is also attached to the cleaning unit.

Detachable fall prevention straps are attached to both hands.
The detachable fall prevention strap is used by passing it through the handle of each unit so that it will not fall when attaching the window mate to the window.
Install the cleaning unit with a wet wiping pad on the heavily soiled outdoor side and the navigation unit with a wiping pad on the relatively clean indoor side with the handle facing you. Please note that the navigation unit and the cleaning unit are attached by a strong permanent magnet, and the window glass may break if not installed carefully. After mounting it on the window and removing the mounting auxiliary pad, raise the handle of the navigation unit to turn on the main power switch. It's OK if the area around the button in the center of the navigation unit glows green.
Press the button to start Windowmate RT-10. It starts to move upward.
We will continue to clean the window while drawing a zigzag trajectory from the top of the window and going down. When I was moving, I heard a mosquito sound mixed with the driving sound, but this is due to the ultrasonic sensor for mapping the window frame. I asked my window mate to wipe off the letters written on the glass with a brush pen to make sure that they were wiped properly. As you can see from the movie below, the characters disappeared completely after one round trip, so it seems that the wiping is done well.

You can also use the remote control to operate the window mate in any direction. The time varies greatly depending on the thickness and size of the window glass, but with this window glass, cleaning was completed in about 30 to 40 minutes after pressing the button. However, if you lose sight of the course on the way, the wiping may not be completed even after 1 hour.
All you have to do is attach it to the window and press a button, and it will automatically clean the window, so you can clean and clean the room while your windowmates are cleaning the window. No complicated operations or settings are required, and even people who are not good at machines can easily handle it. It wipes and cleans even in high places that are out of reach. In addition, the permanent magnets stick the two units so that they sandwich the window tightly, so even if the battery runs out during cleaning, it will not fall out of the window.
In addition, the Windowmate RT series has a (PDF) insurance plan in case the windowmate falls and something happens, and it is a nice point that it is provided free of charge for one year from the purchase.
However, the length of the charging time is a regrettable point, and with a maximum continuous driving time of about 90 minutes and a maximum charging time of 7 hours, it is not possible to have one window mate clean many windows at once. I felt strict. In addition, since the corresponding models differ depending on the thickness of the window, it may not be possible to cover all the windows of the house with one window glass that cannot be used by windowmates.
