Kamiyama:
As a big change in the mind, it is still affected by the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. Until the earthquake, there were "daily life not finished", young people may not have experienced so much, but there was a feeling that it is "happy people just being born in Japan". However, after the earthquake, the economy became worse, it became clear that the problem of aging and the disparity society became more prominent, and "endless days" became an unfortunate fantasy. In such a time, what kind of work would you be willing to make? It is not the "talk of saving the world" as a matter of course, but rather to make a story that closely touches the everyday, even if the minimum can be touched but touching personal feelings I decided to put on the concept. G:
In this work, the figure that my father Momotarou talks to the hero's cocone is drawn. I heard that Kamiyama also talked to her daughter in the same way, did this influence this work?

Kamiyama:
When I was holding a planning meeting, I talked like "I was talking to my children long ago." When I was a child, there was such a moment that the animation I saw and special effects and reality would be somewhere borderless, maybe my daughter probably thought so too? Although it was a parable story, from there, it is a story that "What is the fantasy linking dreams and reality?" It is a feeling that it gradually became taken into the story more and more.

G:
What kind of story did Kamiyama direct me?

Kamiyama:
At first I ordered an existing story normally, but I arrange from the middle. Compared to the content being broadcasted in animation and drama, stimulation is few when fairy tales and old tales are intact, as it is speaking, it becomes increasingly radical becoming increasingly radical (laugh) From the middle it is perfect I was creative.


G:

Kamiyama:

G:
Hmph.

Kamiyama:
Currently Japan has a part in the 20th century, or Showa's success experience disturbing the progress of technology and economic development. So, I thought about the generation above which I could not accept progress as I was interrupted by such a successful experience and the generation that I master the right technology. And I thought that technology would be easy to understand if it were a car in Japan.

G:
Oh, I see.

Kamiyama:
It is the Tokyo Olympic Games held in 2020 that came out at the same time. The Tokyo Olympic Games held in 1964 was a major success experience of Japan as well as cars. Based on that experience, there are people who think that the Tokyo Olympic Games will be done once again, but on the other hand there are generations that do not come with such a thing. G:
"I did not think that automatic driving will evolve to this point when writing a screenplay", but the director is the type you want to trust if you can create an automatic driving system that you said oh? Or are you the type you want to drive on your own?

Kamiyama:
Just if you travel, I think that I want to drive by myself because there are things like 'chance encounter'. It is somewhat lonesome to have automatic driving. However, I think that it is automatic driving if you think about work. In the past I liked driving the car itself without multiplication, and traffic congestion did not get bothersome, but I feel that one hour traveling in Tokyo that is congested is a waste at the moment. The only thing you can do while driving is to listen to music or English conversation, so you might want to read books and materials while traveling by train. Therefore, "I wonder if it will be automatic driving sooner".

G:

Kamiyama:
But when automatic driving becomes popular, I do not think that it will become a car like now. In the first place, does the car need to be "my own car"?

G:

Kamiyama:
But, people who have money say they say "people do not want to ride" and will keep holding their own car. Besides, there are still many people thinking that "my car is driving by myself" in my generation.

G:
I'd like to talk about digitization at work as I move. Although this work thinks that all the processes including the con- tain have been digitized, I thought that I was able to take out the PC at the outset and do the story work, but at the point I heard, the convenience of software licenses Because it can only be installed on the top one, there are things that it is annoying, because you need to purchase separately if the software in the company's PC is included.

Kamiyama:

Kamiyama:
The concept like "software" is gone, and what I bought before is now licensed. If you thought "I bought it because it was not good", I have to continue paying the money, I feel a little "being squeezed". I wonder if there is a part where the advancement of technology and the place of making it for whom are not meeting. G:
There is an image that digitization is relieved from paper constraints and it becomes easy, but how is it?

Kamiyama:
Well, there is not that much (lol) I am supervising books, but after all I will return it to paper. I thought that e-books are also good, and I gathered the digital version of the book I had at hand so far because I am "highly documentable" ... but I do not look for it.

G:

Kamiyama:
The digital one is hardly findable.

G:
Is the bookshelf higher in listability?

Kamiyama:

Although I drew a VR device in the work, the image inside me is an AR device, with a camera attached, the real landscape is visible in front of my eyes, yet I can also use like a smartphone or PC I thought it would be nice.


G:
I was fancying what Morio was showing in the sky that he was hitting the keyboard in the air and looking for something in his sight, is AR-like. Since the progress of real AR and VR technology is a bit more relaxed than automatic operation, it seems difficult to reach here so far in 2020.

Kamiyama:
I think that automatic driving is technically more advanced than describing in "Princess Hirune", but it is an impression that it hits the wall at other places, such as legal improvement and infrastructure problems . If everything becomes a car of automatic operation I think that it is totally different thing, but in the transition period where ordinary cars and automated driving cars are intertwined, I think that it is often not a problem of technology . I talked about software being licensed system earlier, but it seems to me that cars that suffer from consumers are in different places than technology, too.

G:

Kamiyama:
However, since the car may not be sold at that time, in order to sell the car this time, the infrastructure such as "you can not go out unless it is an automobile driving car" may be built. This is a little separate from the main line of "Princess Hime", but I thought about working in a corner of my head.

G:
I see. I feel a little back, but is there a sense that digitizing all processes makes animation making easier?

Kamiyama:
I saw many nice things, but there are still problems.


G:
Is there anything wrong?

Kamiyama:
This may be the same as automatic operation, but if the animation industry as a whole is digitized, the story will be different again, but that is not the case yet.

G:
There is still a part where analog and digital are intermingled.

Kamiyama:
By intermingling, it is a feeling that mutual good points and bad places collide with each other. After that, I realize that the IT solutions in Japan are lagging behind. Data management is tremendously analog.

G:
How do you say, what is it?

Kamiyama:
For example, there is a "cut 1" of a movie. This cut goes through the hands of some people and heads for the finish, but after handling it is said that the person in front of one step "has waited for a while and wants to try again". Normally, data automatically goes up to the server, people in the next process and other people are accessing data on that server, so the points you changed are automatically reflected. In other words, it is making sure that "new data" and "old data" are not wastefully born. However, the current animation site has not advanced so far, it is the number of tremendous files. Since it is managed by date and version number, it is full of mistakes. "What is digitization for what?" (Laugh), this is the current state of IT solutions in the animation industry (though only my studio might be).

G:
I see…….

Kamiyama:
As a bad place for Japanese people, I think there is a side that I do not think about importantly if there is no specific thing. Like this solution, for example, someone seems to be an idea. It is quite natural to say that the screenwriting fee will not come out when it gets hit (laugh). Although it is a story of overseas, when a friend calls a doctor and hears "This is a symptom, is it a cold?" But the next day my invoice arrived at my house. Even a single word, it is natural that the doctor did the job.


G:
It is money to say that you have knowledge that you can diagnose as a cold.

Kamiyama:
Turning back to the digitalization of the site, the department of the solution has been delayed, so even though the production staff has digitized it all the time, the production staff must check the files one by one and move the files one by one I do not have to.

G:
Does it happen even if it is digitized like this?

Kamiyama:
Even though "digitization" has been done, we just replaced the process so far with digital. Speaking of digitization in the anime industry, I still saw a lot of good parts with a test case this time, but I felt it was still more difficult if the whole thing did not change.

Kamiyama:
Actually, it was not "counterattack of the empire" but I was addicted at the time of "episode 4 / new hope".

G:
That's right, I'm sorry. As I was 14 years old, it was a story that I met "Empire Strikes Back", so after all I was convinced that a person was influenced greatly by the work I met at the age of 14. Which area was attracted to "Star Wars"? There are things like SF-like elements, stories, visuals, and music that are likely to become hooks.

Kamiyama:
When I look back, I think that it is part of a story. "Star Wars" is a story that "a boy in the country is longing for the city", is not it? Well, I guess George Lucas's feelings are on its way. Because, "Luke Skywalker" with his name on the main character (laugh)

G:
You can not pretty much create your own name or nickname on the main character with creation.

Kamiyama:
So already, Luke is the thought of Lucas itself. I feel like I was most attracted to it. Of course, the SF setting and the visual which seems to have never seen anyone so far are also attractive, but when asked "What is your favorite?", I had a desire to jump out of the country I think that the boy was attracted to entering the galaxy and going through a big adventure. At that time, I was screening two pieces at Nagaseza, so it was an environment that I could see "Star Wars" all the time if I tolerate another piece of work, so I have been watching from the morning and headache in the evening I was (laugh)

Kamiyama:

G:

Kamiyama:
Yes, "The consultant". The subject is "The Accountant" and the accountant's story, that was a very interesting movie. The feeling that I saw at a moment may seem hard to stick to, but I think that setting is troublesome if you are familiar with the movie. Kamiyama:
Perhaps for me, SF elements are not mandatory. Although I used Sarlinger as a subject, I believe that the single person's monologue is the biggest entertainment, so if it comes to saying that everything can be dropped and made everything, it looks like a personal monologue I think that it will be a movie. However, although it has become more diverse, I think that planning will not be decided if it is animation (lol)
