"Nori Lights" in which the tire emits light so that the bicycle stands out at night
When driving on a bicycle at night, I light the light for safety, but with the front and rear lights I also do not notice the existence when I see a bicycle from the side. Where the tiresrimThe part was made to emit light, so that the existence of the bicycle was well understood even from a far car "Nori Lights"is.
Nori Lights - Bicycle Illumination System by Chris Flynn - Kickstarter
You can see how you actually use Nori Lights from the following movies.
It was Chris Flynn who designed it.
Although it is possible to check the bicycle by the light from the front and rear direction, that light is unreliable, and if it is from the side it is hard to notice the existence of the bicycle.
Therefore, it is "Nori Lights" to let the rim part emit light and teach the existence of the bicycle to the car. Chris is driving a bicycle at night and he seems to have designed Nori Lights in the wake of a dangerous accident.
You can check the bicycle securely even if you are far away
Chris put the movie in the movie of driving the original Nori Lights made for me and uploaded it to YouTube. While I kept the movie open, I had neglected it for a long time, but unexpectedly the movie became famous, and some people said "I want Nori Lights." In addition, the original moviefrom hereYou can watch.
Chris who decided to improve the original so that it can be used in general as well. We narrowed down to the following five improvements. First of all, you can use any bicycle easily. The second is to make the light brighter and smaller. The third is to be able to use for a long time with a little energy. The fourth thing is that it does not compromise the brightness and efficiency of the lighting system. And at the end is to make it affordable so that many people can use it.
And here is the completion.
This is realized by using two kinds of sheets, not painting luminescent paint. One isDisc brakeAdhesive sheet to the corresponding rim. The other isRim brakeCorresponding "C ring Nori Lights system".
Just stick the adhesive sheet to the rim part as the name suggests. In case of C ring, paste the semicircular seat on the circumferential part of the tire that is not affected by the brake.
When turn on the light of the bicycle and turn off the light, the sheet near the light first emits light.
As the tire rotates, the glowing part spreads throughout.
This is a tirephosphorescentBecause it wraps with sexual material, since it installs a combination of four semicircular parts, regardless of the size of the tire.
The next issue is to improve energy efficiency.
The original Nori LightsBlack lightAlthough I was using the improved version, I used ultraviolet LED. Parts containing two ultraviolet LEDs on the side of the tire can now be attached, so the bulky light design was also refreshing.
By using the LED bulb, power consumption can be suppressed, and two 150 AA batteries can be operated with 150 AA batteries.
Through these efforts, Nori Lights has become smaller, brighter and energy efficient, but there remains a challenge to finally offer it to people at an affordable price. Therefore, Nori Lights decided to invite funds with kickstarter. It is possible to get a kit with Nori Lights for two tires and a lithium battery, ultraviolet LED set as a set of 85 dollars (about 6700 yen). For shipment outside the United States, a separate shipping fee of $ 15 (approximately 1200 yen) is required. In addition, Nori Lights can be used not only for bicycles but also for motorcycles.
The deadline is 6:31 AM on Sunday, November 4, Japan time.
