Many jailbreak tools compatible with PS5 have emerged, as well as tools that allow you to run Wii U and 3DS software on PS5.

A jailbreak tool called 'PS5 Relapse Exploit,' which allows users to run software that is not supposed to work on the PlayStation 5 (PS5), is currently making headlines.

While PS5 jailbreaking tools have existed before, they almost always required a PS5 running a specific firmware version. Since new PS5s sold already have a relatively recent firmware version, users had to search used game shops for older PS5s.

The PS5 Relapse Exploit is a jailbreaking tool compatible with firmware versions 7.00 through 13.60. Firmware version 13.60 was released in July 2026, meaning that any PS5 console currently on the market, as long as it hasn't received any updates, can be used with the PS5 Relapse Exploit.

Also generating buzz is 'PS5CEMU-HAR,' a jailbreak tool that allows PS5 users to play Wii U and 3DS games. Reports have surfaced online from people who have used PS5CEMU-HAR to play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on their PS5.
