Five new features will be added in the September 2026 Android Drop update.
The first is a feature called 'Motion Assist,' which has been reported to be undergoing testing on some devices. This feature displays dots on the screen that move in accordance with the motion when it detects that the user is moving in a vehicle, helping to prevent motion sickness.

It was previously implemented on iOS as 'Vehicle Motion Queue.'
The second feature is the ability to have Gemini record the location where important items are stored.
For items that you would be upset about losing, you should take precautions such as attaching tracking tags, but there are some items, like passports, that cannot be tagged. So I ask Gemini to 'record that I put the passport in the top drawer in the bedroom.'
Then, Gemini records the storage location in the search hub .
When you're looking for it, just ask Gemini where your passport is.
Gemini will tell you where it was stored.
You can also check this in the 'Recorded Items' tab of the search hub.
This feature is available in countries and regions where Gemini and Search Hub are supported, and is available on devices running Android 16 or later.
The third feature is 'Guided Vision,' designed for people with visual impairments or low vision. By sharing a camera with Gemini Live, Gemini will tell you what the camera is showing you.
For example, you could point your camera at a shelf where similar containers are lined up and ask, 'Can you tell me where the oregano is?'
Then Gemini told me, 'The oregano container is on the second shelf.'
They will continue to guide you until you have the correct container.
If the camera orientation is not appropriate when using the feature, voice feedback will guide you to change the composition or center the subject. It is scheduled to be available soon on Android 9 and later devices in countries and regions where Gemini is available.
The fourth feature is editing and sharing lists and notes using Google Keep . Since all participants can share and edit lists and notes together within the chat, collaborative work is possible without switching between apps.
The fifth option is a chat theme for Google Messages. You can customize the background and bubble colors.
