The 'Omakub' approach, advocated by DHH, involves providing a carefully selected set of optimal tools and settings from the start. DHH has also released 'Omakub,' or 'Omaku Ubuntu' for short, for Ubuntu.

Omarchy comes pre-installed with Neovim, Chromium, Obsidian, LibreOffice, Kdenlive, OBS Studio, and more, and DHH explains that it's 'not just a collection of pre-installed packages, but a complete system designed with both aesthetics and productivity in mind.'

The Omacom Foundation holds the trademark rights to Omarchy, provides funding for infrastructure development and promotion, and aims to support the open-source software and developers on which Omarchy depends.

To establish the organization, the following eight individuals, including DHH himself, each contributed $1 million.
