Christie Schmidt, senior communications manager for Amazon's Devices & Services division, said in a statement to the media: 'The consumer electronics industry is facing a significant increase in the cost of memory and storage components. We have absorbed these increases as much as possible so far, but we have recently adjusted prices across our entire product line. Our commitment to providing great products at affordable prices remains unchanged.'

According to technology media outlet Pocket-lint, based on the price history of all Fire TV Stick models, the price increase was implemented uniformly on August 21, 2026. Furthermore, Pocket-lint points out that 'what's strange about this price increase is that, unlike Apple and Roku, there was no official announcement beforehand. I only noticed the price increase when I was looking at the Amazon app on my smartphone and immediately realized it was much higher than the usual price.'
