Insta360 Mic Pro: Exterior Review (featuring an E-Ink display, 3-microphone array, and 32-bit float recording)
Insta360, known for its action cameras and other products, released the ' Insta360 Mic Pro ' wireless microphone on May 19, 2026. The Mic Pro features three built-in microphones with switchable directional patterns, as well as AI noise cancellation and auto-gain capabilities. Having had the opportunity to actually use the Mic Pro, I first took a detailed look at its appearance, including the distinctive E-Ink display, and its included accessories.

This is what the Insta360 Mic Pro package looks like. The set I borrowed from Insta360 included two transmitters, one receiver, and a charging case.
The left side of the package summarizes its features, including seamless connectivity with smartphones, automatic gain control, 32-bit float recording, timecode synchronization support, 30 hours of operation with the charging case, and a connection range of 400m.
The right side highlighted features such as an E-ink display, a 3-microphone array, NPU-based noise cancellation, the ability to record simultaneously with 4 transmitters and 1 receiver, and the ability to record with multi-camera shooting using 2 transmitters and 4 receivers.
Upon opening the box, I found two transmitters inside. Each had a round E-ink display showing a smiley face and the 'Insta360' logo.
Below that are the quick start guide and the charging case.
I took out the transmitter. It's about 38mm in diameter, palm-sized.
The front panel uses an E-ink display, so the displayed illustrations are clearly visible even in bright environments.
There's a microphone on top.
The bottom features a power button, a USB Type-C port for connection and charging, and a recording button.
The left side has an indicator and a microphone.
There was also an indicator and a microphone on the right side.
The back has a clip and various markings such as the technical compliance mark are printed on it.
The following shows the clip on the back fully extended.
The transmitter weighed 22g according to our measurements.
This is what the Insta360 Mic Pro charging case looks like from the front. The dimensions are 122.00mm wide x 61.90mm high x 42.20mm deep.
On the back, there is the Insta360 Mic Pro logo and a USB-Type-C port for charging.

The top of the charging case has a sliding latch to unlock the lid.
The bottom has rubber anti-slip pads and various markings, including the CE mark. The battery capacity is 2815mAh/10.95Wh and the input is 5V x 3A.
When I pulled the sliding latch to open the lid, I found the Insta360 Mic Pro receiver stored inside.
This is the Insta360 Mic Pro receiver. It has a display and control toggles.
The power button is on the right side.
On the left side are an audio output terminal for camera connection and a headphone output terminal for monitoring.
There is a camera shoe on the top, and a rear clip is attached.
This is what it looks like with the rear clip removed. When the receiver is attached to the hot shoe of the camera used for shooting, accessories such as lights and monitors can be separately attached to the camera hot shoe of the receiver.
On the back, there is a USB Type-C port for charging/connection, as well as a charging terminal.
There are clips on the bottom for securing the device.
The fixing clip is fully opened.
The charging case can store two transmitters and one receiver.
The battery level of the charging case is now displayed on the LED indicator on the right side.
The charging case is semi-transparent on all sides, allowing the E-ink display to be seen through when the transmitter is placed inside.
When I weighed the two transmitters and one receiver stored in the charging case, it came to 242g.
In addition to the Insta360 Mic Pro set, the package includes a padded case for the receiver, a USB Type-C connector for shoe mounting, an audio cable for connecting to the camera, a USB Type-C cable for charging/connecting, two windshields that attach to the transmitter to act as a windbreak, and two magnets for attaching the transmitter to clothing or fabric.
This is what the transmitter looks like with the windshield attached. It's incredibly easy to install; you simply snap the plastic parts into place.
The inside of the cushion case is divided into compartments.
This way, you can store the charging case, cable, and accessories all together, making it convenient for carrying around.
When everything was packed into the padded case and weighed, it came in at 303g. Putting the delicate Insta360 Mic Pro in a padded case allows you to carry it around in your bag without worry.
Next time, I plan to actually record with the Insta360 Mic Pro and check its sound quality, so please look forward to it.
